Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum opens NI – Natural Intelligence exhibition

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum hosted the opening ceremony of the exhibition NI - Natural Intelligence on June 10.

The exhibition features installations, digital art, nano video art and performance works by artists Ramil Aliev, Emin Mathers, Nargiz Ramizgizi, Ramil Mammadli and Lenay Seidali-zade, created within the field of science art, which brings together art, science and contemporary technologies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, museum director Amina Malikova noted that the project explores the impact of technological progress, the digital environment, and global ecological changes on the modern personchr("39")s way of thinking.

Malikova also pointed out that the exhibition covers topics such as memory, attention, perception, the relationship between humans and the environment, as well as the gradual distancing from physical reality and cultural roots in the era of digitalization.

Leyla Seyidzade, head of the Azad Mirzajanzada Development Program, emphasized in her speech that the Natural Intelligence project is the first art project to win the Programchr("39")s support and receive funding for its implementation, as the exhibition is carried out in the Science art direction and combines science, art, and modern technologies.

The exhibitionchr("39")s curator, Sofiya Frank, provided information about the works of Ramil Aliyev, Emin Mathers, Nargiz Ramizgizi, Ramil Mammadli, and Lenay Seidali-zade presented within the framework of the project.

"The artistschr("39") installations, digital art, nano video art, and performances encompass extensive research work and a scientific approach. Each of the artists raises questions important for humanity, which may even frighten some people," she said.

The project NI - Natural Intelligence explores the impact of technological progress, the digital environment and global environmental changes on contemporary patterns of human thinking. The exhibition focuses on memory, attention, perception, humanitychr("39")s relationship with the environment, and the gradual distancing from physical reality and cultural roots in the age of digitalization.

A special place within the project is given to the Azerbaijani carpet as a carrier of memory, symbols and cultural codes. The artists reinterpret this ancient art form through the lens of contemporary social, technological and environmental processes.

Highlighting the interaction between science and art, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how the relationships between humans and nature, the human body, technology and cultural heritage are evolving.

The exhibition is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and the YARADICI Creative Centre.

The project, implemented by the Atesh Hub platform, is a winner of the Azad Mirzajanzada Development Program. The founder and mentor of Atesh Hub is Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan and curator Sabina Shikhlinskaya. The project curator is Sofiya Frank, and the coordinator is Agnessa Tariverdiyeva.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors until June 14.
