The guest also thanked the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) for its continuous efforts in strengthening international cooperation in addressing the challenges of urban communities, as well as for its ongoing activities in creating modern platforms and tools: "The Global Events Management System, which stands at the forefront of these tools, reflects a progressive approach aimed at increasing international participation and facilitating coordination and interaction between government institutions and experts working on urban development projects."
"The theme of this yearchr("39")s forum, chr("39")Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities,chr("39") is not merely the title of an international event; on the contrary, it is a global call to reconsider the future of cities and how to ensure peoplechr("39")s right to safe, dignified, and sustainable housing. Today, the world faces a growing housing crisis affecting billions of people amid deepening social inequalities, increasing impacts of climate change, rapid urban growth, and rising migration and forced displacement indicators. Consequently, housing provision is no longer a narrow-scope issue; it has become a fundamental pillar of stability, development, and public security. In Libya, we fully recognize the importance of building more resilient, inclusive, and equitable cities," Mohamed Younis Al-Menfi added.
