Azerbaijan's Gabala hosts meeting of OTS Council of Foreign Ministers
11:52 EnA meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic-speaking States (OTS) was held in Gabala, Olaylar reports.
The meeting was held as part of the 12th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS, which will also take place in Gabala.
Addressing the event, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov stated that within the framework of the organization, based on the Nakhchivan Treaty and relying on a common language, history, and traditions, political, economic, and cultural cooperation is developing in more than 35 areas.
The minister noted that the dynamics of cooperation between the OTS countries, based on brotherhood and mutual trust, at a time when trust in international organizations has been severely undermined, is not only a source of pride but also a solid foundation for a confident outlook on the future:
"Today, we will consider proposals from member states aimed at further strengthening our organization. Increasing the number of annual OTS summits to two, at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, has created an opportunity for flexible, in-depth, and detailed discussion of the possibilities for our cooperation."
In addition, the minister noted that to make cooperation more meaningful and sustainable, it is necessary to strengthen the economic potential of the member states of the Organization of Turkic-speaking States, along with the development of mutual investment and trade.
The minister stressed that, from a geographical point of view, the OTS member states play the role of a bridge between Europe and Asia, providing natural transport, logistics, and transit lines: "The organization has enormous potential in this direction. This line is also an integral part of the corridor. The announcement at the Washington summit of the TRIPP route, which will ensure unhindered movement between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan via the Zangezur corridor, is an important step in diversifying ties in our region."
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OTG continued its work with discussions.
