Victim of Armenian attacks: 'We were subjected to fire from Gorus when we passed through Lachin'

At a trial held on August 25 at the Baku Military Court, a victim named Sabir Guliyev testified in the case against ethnic Armenian individuals accused of committing war crimes.

Guliyev stated that no humanitarian corridor was provided to civilians during the occupation of Shusha by Armenian armed forces in early May 1992. Guliyev said he is originally from the village of Goytala in Shusha and was forced to flee during the occupation.

"My cousins Tahir and Rafael Guliyev were killed. Tahir's body has still not been found," he said.

"When we tried to pass through Lachin, we came under artillery fire from the Goris side. An elderly woman was killed there," Guliyev added. He also shared that after the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands, he visited his father's grave and found it desecrated, with some headstones removed.

"They seized our property, our farms, and our possessions. Our villages were destroyed, and residents couldn't even recognize their homes. They left our land in a terrible condition," he said.

The trial continues for citizens of the Republic of Armenia accused of multiple grave offenses, including war crimes, crimes against peace and humanity, preparation and waging of an aggressive war, genocide, violation of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing of terrorism, and the violent seizure and retention of power.
