Pashinyan: Alma-Ata Declaration played key role in establishing Armenia-Azerbaijan peace
11:12 EnThe Alma-Ata Declaration played a key role in establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, Olaylar informs.
According to him, the Alma-Ata Declaration of December 21, 1991, is one of the foundational documents of the CIS.
Pashinyan recalled that in 2024, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed and ratified the regulation on the joint activity of the Commission on Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
"This regulation became the first bilateral legally binding document concluded between independent Armenia and independent Azerbaijan. This document states that the relevant commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan will base themselves on the Alma-Ata Declaration as a fundamental principle of the state border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan," he added.
