Baku and Rome discuss cooperation opportunities in AI and critical raw materials

Azerbaijan and Italy have discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in critical raw materials and artificial intelligence (AI).

According to Olaylar, citing information from Italychr("39")s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the discussions took place during a phone call between Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso and Azerbaijanchr("39")s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.

"The sides discussed the state of bilateral cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan, as well as prospects for further developing economic and industrial ties between the two countries. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for cooperation in strategic areas such as critical raw materials and the application of artificial intelligence in industry and the economy. The aim is to leverage the expertise and capabilities of the two countries," the statement said.

According to the ministry, these issues, as well as prospects for further cooperation, will be discussed in greater detail during Minister Jabbarovchr("39")s upcoming visit to Italy.

During the conversation, Urso also expressed his appreciation for the decision by Azerbaijanchr("39")s state oil company SOCAR to cap fuel prices at IP service stations in support of Italian households and businesses.

According to the statement, SOCAR promptly supported a similar initiative initially launched by Italian energy company Eni.

Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni thanked President Ilham Aliyev for SOCARchr("39")s decision to follow Enichr("39")s example and introduce price caps on gasoline and diesel fuel at the service stations of its subsidiary, Italiana Petroli (IP).
