Mikayil Jabbarov: Azerbaijan aims to turn long-term partnerships into new investments

Azerbaijan aims to turn long-term partnerships into new investments, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku,  Olaylar informs.

He emphasized that the "Contract of the Century," signed in 1994 at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, established a strong cooperation model between Azerbaijan and leading global energy companies:

"For more than three decades, working hand in hand with our partners, we have not only contributed to the socio-economic development of our own country, but have also acted as a reliable energy supplier for a number of countries in the region and beyond. Long-term partnerships continue to generate new investments and reinvestments. Most foreign companies operating in our country choose to reinvest their profits here."

Touching on global economic challenges, the economy minister said that the experience of the past six years - the pandemic, disruptions in transportation, and geopolitical tensions - has once again demonstrated the importance of resilient supply chains and reliable partnerships:

"Azerbaijanchr("39")s goal is precisely to strengthen interregional connectivity based on the trust gained through long-term partnerships."
