Rail freight transportation volume exceeds 12M tons in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijanchr("39")s railway freight transportation volume amounted to 12.129 million tons in January-August 2026, Olaylar informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

This is 972,300 tons (8.7%) more than in the same period last year.

During the reporting period, economic entities operating in the transport sector transported 162.739 million tons of cargo. Railways accounted for 7.5% of the countrychr("39")s total volume of freight transportation.

Revenues in the transport and warehousing sector during the reporting period amounted to 10.931 million manats. In real terms, this is 8.7% more than a year earlier.
