Russian Investigative Committee establishes no extremism evidence in slogans of Azerbaijani students

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation hasnchr("39")t found any evidence of extremism in the slogans of Azerbaijani students at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, according to the official representative of the Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko, Olaylar informs.

"Investigators from the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow, together with a translator, studied video recordings capturing the aforementioned actions. No extremist calls were found in the young peoplechr("39")s words. Since the young people didnchr("39")t commit any illegal actions, the investigation will make an appropriate procedural decision," reads the statement.

The Moscow Financial and Law University under the Government of Russia held a student festival called "My Homeland: Big and Small."

As part of the event, students from other universities - representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora - joined to support the universitychr("39")s Azerbaijani club. After the festival, Azerbaijani youth began to proclaim the slogan "Long live Azerbaijan!" in their native language.

Later, videos with distorted sound began circulating online, allegedly showing Azerbaijani students chanting illegal extremist slogans.
