Fidan: Azerbaijan-Türkiye joint projects are growing steadily

Joint projects between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are increasing day by day, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at a joint press briefing in Baku with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to Olaylar, Fidan said Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations were developing on the principle of "One nation, two states."

"My visit today also coincides with the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku. We pray for Godchr("39")s mercy for all our martyrs," he said.

The Turkish minister said relations between the two countries were discussed during his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"We emphasize the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway being operational. Joint cooperation in the defense sector also demonstrates this partnership in practice. We will continue this in the coming period," Fidan said.

He noted that Türkiye was closely following the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and had always stood by Azerbaijan.

"Our wish is for the necessary steps to be taken for the development of the region," he said.

Fidan also touched on the construction of the Kars-Dilucu railway, saying the project would be completed by the end of 2029.

"The functioning of the Middle Corridor is in the interests of both countries. It will also contribute to the countries of the Organization of Turkic States. Project work on the Kars-Dilucu railway is continuing, and construction of the railway will be completed toward the end of 2029," he said.
