Shafiyev: Coordinated disinformation campaigns target Azerbaijan-Türkiye unity

Coordinated disinformation campaigns are being carried out against Azerbaijan-Türkiye unity on various issues, said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center for Analysis of International Relations and Multiculturalism (AIR Center), Olaylar informs.

He made the statement during the panel session titled Turkic World Dialogues: Shared Future, Shared Vision, in Baku.

Highlighting the importance of Azerbaijan-Türkiye intellectual ties in the Turkic unity, Shafiyev stressed that Turkic states must jointly combat disinformation.

He noted that attempts by certain circles to portray closer ties among Turkic states as a new Pan-Turkism idea are completely unfounded.

Shafiyev added that organized disinformation campaigns are being conducted against Azerbaijan-Türkiye unity in different directions:

"I would also like to mention events in the Middle East. Azerbaijan coordinates its policies on the Middle East with Türkiye, and this worries some. For example, we are witnessing coordinated disinformation against Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherhood regarding the issue of Israel."
