President: Azerbaijan highly appreciates OIC's consistent support

Azerbaijan has always felt the consistent support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in a congratulatory letter to OIC Secretary-General Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Olaylar informs.

The head of state noted that over the 35 years of its membership in the Organization, Azerbaijan has played an active and responsible role in the OICchr("39")s activities, contributed to strengthening Islamic solidarity, and actively participated in enhancing the Organizationchr("39")s standing on the international stage.

"In turn, Azerbaijan has always felt the consistent support of the OIC. During the nearly 30 years of Armeniachr("39")s aggression against Azerbaijan and in the post-war period, the OIC demonstrated a resolute stance by adopting resolutions and statements that strongly condemned the occupation, supported Azerbaijanchr("39")s just cause, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and welcomed the restoration and reconstruction efforts in our liberated territories. We highly appreciate all of this," President Aliyev said.

He also expressed confidence in the continued and steady development of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
