Azerbaijan, Iran discuss completion of Astara freight terminal

Azerbaijanchr("39")s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iranchr("39")s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh held a phone conversation as co‑chairs of the State Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation between the two countries.

According to Olaylar, citing the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, the officials reviewed the implementation status of issues outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Commissionchr("39")s 17th meeting in Baku this February.

The sides highlighted successful cooperation in economic‑trade, transport‑transit, energy, water, and other sectors, and discussed the progress of ongoing projects.

Among transport initiatives, the completion of the Aghband-Kalala road bridge was noted as a significant achievement.

The parties also discussed necessary steps toward the completion of works at the Astara freight terminal.
