Jeyhun Bayramov discusses Baku-Yerevan peace agenda with OSCE PA President

Azerbaijanchr("39")s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the regional situation and the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia with President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pere Joan Pons Sampietro in Baku.

According to Olaylar, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the meeting focused on Azerbaijanchr("39")s cooperation with the OSCE PA, security in the OSCE area, the regional situation, and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda.

Bayramov emphasized the importance of interparliamentary dialogue in strengthening mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation. He briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijanchr("39")s efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region, the process of normalizing relations with Armenia, and the countrychr("39")s position on the peace agenda.

The sides also discussed humanitarian issues. Bayramov noted that the mine threat remains a serious problem for Azerbaijan, hindering the reconstruction of liberated territories, the return of internally displaced persons, and regional development. He also stressed the importance of determining the fate of around 4,000 missing Azerbaijanis.

The meeting also featured an exchange of views on energy and transport security. The sides highlighted Azerbaijanchr("39")s role as a reliable energy partner for Europe, the development of projects to diversify energy sources and supply routes, as well as initiatives in the field of green energy.

The sides emphasized the importance of the Middle Corridor, the expansion of transport and logistics links between Europe and Central Asia via the Caspian Sea, and the opening of regional communications to strengthen peace, stability, and economic development.

The meeting also addressed Azerbaijanchr("39")s strategic partnership with Central Asian countries and new opportunities for cooperation in the C6 format following the transformation of the C5 format.

The sides further exchanged views on challenges in the OSCE area and other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
