Simonyan speaks about talks with Hikmat Hajiyev and possible visit to Baku

Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Alen Simonyan has not ruled out a visit to Baku following his meeting on September 1 in Bishkek with Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Olaylar informs via Armenian media outlets.

Speaking to journalists, Simonyan noted that the main topic of his meeting with Hajiyev was the deepening of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"I can say with satisfaction that the Azerbaijani side is taking all steps aimed at establishing peace and will continue to do so," he stated.

Simonyan also pointed out that the sides agreed to introduce new mechanisms to address unresolved issues.

Answering a question about a possible visit to Baku, the Armenian Security Council Secretary said: "I do not rule out such a visit, but I cannot specify a date."

He also mentioned that such a meeting had been planned earlier, when the position of Armeniachr("39")s Security Council Secretary was still held by Armen Grigoryan.
