Two Turkish commercial vessels collide in Marmara Sea, crew missing

Two Turkish-flagged commercial vessels collided off the coast of Silivri in the Marmara Sea,Olaylar  informs via Turkish media outlets.

The incident occurred at around 03:00 local time (GMT+3), approximately 18 nautical miles south of Silivri. The ALSU commercial vessel, sailing from Kocaeli to Aliağa, collided with the TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU commercial vessel en route from Iskenderun Port to Karadeniz Ereğli.

Following the accident, multiple units from the Coast Guard Command, the Marmara and Straits Regional Command, as well as a Coast Guard helicopter, were dispatched to the area.

Initial inspections revealed no damage to the ALSU vessel. However, contact was lost with the 10 crew members aboard the TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU.

Search and rescue operations by naval and air units are ongoing to locate and save the missing crew.
