Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan agree to strengthen sustainable peace

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have agreed, through direct bilateral engagement, to continue the steps to further consolidate lasting peace, advance the normalization of interstate relations, and strengthen connectivity, according to a press statement following a meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan in Bishkek on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Olaylar informs.

The leaders positively assessed confidence-building contacts involving parliamentarians and representatives of civil society, noting their contribution to strengthening mutual trust and supporting the broader peace agenda.
