Azerbaijani prosecutor general receives Chinese ambassador

Azerbaijanchr("39")s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has received Lu Mei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Peoplechr("39")s Republic of China to Azerbaijan, Olaylar informs, citing the press service of the Prosecutor Generalchr("39")s Office.

The prosecutor general touched on the traditional friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and China, as well as the existence of businesslike relations in all areas, and spoke about cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

Aliyev noted that China has for many years supported Azerbaijanchr("39")s just position and political initiatives on various international platforms. He said that, as a result of the political will and regular contacts of the heads of state, Azerbaijan-China relations have developed dynamically in recent years and risen to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

It was especially emphasized that President Ilham Aliyevchr("39")s two visits to China in 2025 and the signing in April of that year, together with President of the Peoplechr("39")s Republic of China Xi Jinping, of the Joint Statement on the Establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Peoplechr("39")s Republic of China are among important indicators of this.

The high level of interstate relations has also had a positive impact on the development of ties between the prosecution authorities of Azerbaijan and China, creating favorable conditions for expanding cooperation and exchanging experience on issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, it was also noted that the meeting held in Shanghai in April this year with Ying Yong, prosecutor general of the Supreme Peoplechr("39")s Procuratorate of the Peoplechr("39")s Republic of China, made a special contribution to interagency relations.

The sides then exchanged views and reached agreement on combating various forms of crime, practical cooperation, and prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation.

Ambassador Lu Mei thanked the prosecutor general for the warm reception and, speaking about bilateral relations, emphasized that the Peoplechr("39")s Republic of China attaches great importance to ties with Azerbaijan and that relations between the two countries are developing successfully at a high level.
