Azerbaijan, Romania discuss ties between cities and regions

Azerbaijan and Romania have discussed opportunities to establish and develop ties between Azerbaijanchr("39")s Khankandi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts and the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca.

The discussions took place during a meeting between a delegation led by Elchin Yusubov, the Azerbaijani Presidentchr("39")s special representative in Khankandi, Aghdara and Khojaly, and Dan Stefan Tarcea, vice mayor of Cluj-Napoca.

The meeting was held during the Azerbaijani delegationchr("39")s official visit to Romania, Olaylar informs via the press service of Azerbaijanchr("39")s Embassy in Romania.

The sides discussed establishing and expanding relations between the Azerbaijani territories and Cluj-Napoca, implementing joint projects, investment opportunities and other issues of mutual interest.

Tarcea briefed the Azerbaijani delegation on major infrastructure and social projects implemented in Cluj-Napoca, the citychr("39")s development initiatives and its plans for future growth.

Yusubov, in turn, spoke about ongoing reconstruction and development efforts in the areas he represents. He highlighted the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their places of origin following the end of more than three decades of occupation, as well as extensive construction and restoration projects across Karabakh.

The Azerbaijani official also emphasized recent developments in the regional peace process and steps aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability.

According to Yusubov, the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the signing of a peace agreement and the creation of a sustainable environment for regional cooperation are important not only for the South Caucasus but also for expanding trade and economic ties with Europe, particularly Romania.

The sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on matters of mutual interest, organize reciprocal visits and expand the exchange of experience.
