In January-June 2026, Azerbaijan exported 24,231.8 kilograms of gold worth $3.671 billion, Olaylar informs, citing calculations based on data from the State Statistics Committee.

The exported products included gold in bars, rods, wires and profiles, as well as plates, sheets, strips or ribbons with a thickness of more than 0.15 mm, excluding any backing, and gold in other unwrought forms not used for coinage.

The export value was 25.5 times higher than in the same period of 2025, while the volume increased 12.4 times.

Azerbaijan exported 21,902 kilograms of gold worth $3.468 billion to the UK and 2,329.8 kilograms worth $202.169 million to Switzerland. Exports to Switzerland rose by 40.4% in value and 18.9% in volume compared with a year earlier.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 91.5 kilograms of gold worth $15.270 million, down 99.7% in volume and 99.5% in value.

Azerbaijan bought 72.4 kilograms of gold worth $12.405 million from Türkiye, down 93.5% in volume and 87.5% in value. It also imported 19 kilograms worth $2.785 million from Switzerland, down 98.7% in volume and 98% in value, and 0.1 kilograms worth $80,000 from the United Arab Emirates. No gold was supplied from the UAE a year earlier.

Last year, Azerbaijan sold gold only to Switzerland. Supplies to the country totaled 4,522 kilograms worth $326.2 million, up 6% in volume and 54% in value from the previous year.
