Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss simplifying customs procedures along Middle Corridor
13:28 EnAzerbaijan and Türkiye have discussed simplifying customs procedures and facilitating faster and smoother cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor, Olaylar informs, citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The discussions were held during a meeting with a delegation from Türkiyechr("39")s customs service led by Yaşar Baltacı, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement.
The sides expressed satisfaction with relations between the customs authorities of the two countries, joint projects and efforts to study and share best practices.
The meeting also addressed prospects for cooperation aimed at accelerating transit operations.
As part of the visit, members of the Turkish delegation visited the State Customs Committeechr("39")s Academy, the Main Customs Directorate for Air Transport and the Canine Center.
The delegation was briefed on scientific research and institutional approaches in customs administration, as well as the activities of customs authorities in the canine field and the organization of customs operations in air transport.
The sides also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in combating customs-related violations, managing risks, and preventing smuggling and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs.
