Ambassador: Azerbaijan seeks deeper transport cooperation with Oman

Azerbaijan is interested in further deepening cooperation with Oman in the transport sector, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Oman Rashad Ismayilov said in an article published by the Times of Oman.

The ambassador said expanded cooperation would help diversify regional supply chains, improve transportation efficiency and create new investment opportunities.

"In recent years, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman have demonstrated a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics, investment, renewable energy, trade, and digital connectivity. Expanding cooperation in the areas of logistics services, customs procedures, digital transport solutions, and port management could gradually contribute to the establishment of more efficient, resilient, and sustainable transport links," Ismayilov wrote.

According to Ismayilov, deeper cooperation in transport has significant potential to diversify supply chains, increase the efficiency of cargo transportation, strengthen trade resilience and open new investment opportunities. "By combining Omanchr("39")s maritime advantages with Azerbaijanchr("39")s strategic land transport infrastructure, the two countries can contribute to building a more integrated, sustainable, and resilient connectivity network linking Asia, the Middle East, and Europe."

The ambassador emphasized that transport and logistics cooperation could become one of the key pillars of bilateral economic relations as Azerbaijan and Oman continue to strengthen their strategic partnership:

"As Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman continue to deepen their strategic partnership, cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors could become one of the key pillars shaping bilateral economic relations. By leveraging their respective geographic advantages and the complementary and integrated infrastructure of both countries, Azerbaijan and Oman have the potential to make a significant contribution to the development of a more interconnected, diversified, and sustainable Eurasian transport network."
