Jeyhun Bayramov, Andrii Sybiha hold expanded meeting in Kyiv

In the framework of his official visit to Ukraine, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had an expanded meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha on Thursday, Olaylar informs.

The ministers reviewed progress in implementing the agreements reached by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine following President Volodymyr Zelenskyychr("39")s visit to Azerbaijan.

"They discussed the Azerbaijan-Ukraine strategic partnership, trade, energy, investment, transport, humanitarian and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international security issues. They emphasized the importance of regular high-level contacts and the role of bilateral mechanisms, including political consultations, the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, and the Business Council, in further expanding cooperation," Azerbaijanchr("39")s MFA said on X.

The ministers exchanged views on regional developments and current international challenges, in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. FM Bayramov reiterated the importance of the earliest cessation of hostilities, paving the way for a settlement through diplomatic means, based on strict adherence to international law. Azerbaijanchr("39")s consistent support for Ukrainechr("39")s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders was highlighted.

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine conveyed his deepest condolences over the deaths and injuries of Azerbaijani citizens in the Black Sea and Azov Sea as a result of the ongoing military hostilities, extending his sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives and wishing a swift recovery to those injured," the MFA said.

The ministers also highlighted Azerbaijanchr("39")s humanitarian assistance exceeding $50 million, reconstruction projects in Irpin and rehabilitation programs for Ukrainian children.

FM Bayramov further informed his counterpart on the current situation in the South Caucasus, and the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in the territories liberated from occupation.
