Sybiha: Ukraine seeks to reach pre-war level in trade with Azerbaijan

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine has reached $600 million, with Kyiv interested in restoring bilateral trade to the level recorded before the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha told a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv, Olaylar informs.

"We have set ourselves the goal of reaching the pre-war level in terms of trade turnover. Currently, we have reached a level of around $600 million," Sybiha said.

The two top diplomats also agreed to hold the next meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Ukraine.

Sybiha said Ukraine values investments by Azerbaijani companies and expects to expand their presence and implement new joint projects.

In 2021, before the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $922.4 million.
