Shipment of Russian wheat departs for Armenia via Azerbaijan

A freight train carrying Russian wheat to Armenia through Azerbaijan departed from Bilajari Station, operated by Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), on Wednesday.

The train consists of 14 railcars transporting a total of 979 tonnes of wheat.

After leaving Bilajari, the train will cross into Georgia through the Boyuk Kasik railway station before continuing to Armenia.

To date, more than 36,000 tonnes of grain have been transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan. Other transit cargo has included nearly 9,000 tonnes of fertilizer, 1,136 tonnes of propane, 133 tonnes of aluminum, 414 tonnes of anthracite, and 67,000 tonnes of timber.

In addition, Azerbaijan has exported nearly 15,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and almost 5,000 tonnes of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline to Armenia.
