Hikmat Hajiyev: No obstacles to peace treaty once Armenia removes territorial claims from its Constitution

Armenia must remove the provision in its Constitution that contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan, as well as Türkiye, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, told Türkiyechr("39")s Haber Global television channel.

Hajiyev said the signals received indicate that a process to adopt a new constitution is about to begin in Armenia.

"Once these territorial claims are removed from the Constitution, Azerbaijan sees no obstacles to signing the final peace agreement. Moreover, there is already a de facto state of peace in our region," he said.

The presidential aide also spoke about the brotherly relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

"Where Türkiye is absent, Azerbaijan is present, and where Azerbaijan is absent, Türkiye is present. We respond decisively to any steps taken against the interests of our countries, and we will continue to do so," Hajiyev said.
