Kyrgyzstan to finalize Azerbaijani fuel supply plans soon

Kyrgyzstan expects to determine specific volumes and mechanisms for the supply of petroleum products from Azerbaijan in the near future, Kyrgyz Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov told journalists in Cholpon-Ata, Olaylar informs.

"Today, we signed a memorandum between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan on oil and petroleum product supplies and the development of cooperation in the energy sector. This memorandum will allow us to establish effective cooperation in the field of petroleum products," the minister said.

According to him, supply volumes are currently under discussion.

"Negotiations are underway, and there are mutual intentions. I think that specific volumes and supply mechanisms will be determined soon," Rysbekov noted.

He said that following bilateral meetings, relevant agencies were instructed to work out practical mechanisms for implementing the agreements reached as soon as possible.

"In the coming days, the mechanisms will be clearly outlined. On the instructions of the two presidents, a roadmap and a specific implementation mechanism will be prepared within a week," the minister said.

Rysbekov also noted that the two countries had signed roadmaps for cooperation in the electricity sector.

"We have good intentions. I believe that in the future we will have strong and friendly cooperation in the areas of petroleum products and energy," he added.
