Azerbaijan, Georgia launch e-Permit for freight transport

Azerbaijan and Georgia have begun implementing the electronic permit (e-Permit) system for international freight transport by road, Olaylar informs, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

According to the agreement, a joint working group composed of representatives from both countries started technical integration work on May 1, and the process was successfully completed.

To enable active use of the system, the two sides initially exchanged 1,000 bilateral permits, 1,000 transit permits, and 1,000 third-country electronic permit forms, which have already begun to be distributed to carriers.

Previously, the e-Permit system had been successfully applied with Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Carriers can obtain electronic permit forms via the e-xidmet.ayna.gov.az portal without leaving their location, operating in a fully automated mode 24/7.
