Slovak president says he immediately accepted Ilham Aliyevchr("39")s proposal to hold talks in Shusha

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said he immediately accepted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevchr("39")s proposal to hold talks in Shusha, Olaylar informs.

Pellegrini made the remarks in an interview with AnewZ TV.

He said that although he had visited Azerbaijan several times before, this was his first visit to Shusha.

"This is my first visit to Shusha. The idea [of holding talks in Shusha] belonged to Mr. President Aliyev, who asked me whether I would agree to have the official welcoming ceremony and all other main events take place not in Baku, but this time in Shusha. Of course, I immediately agreed, because I know the history of this land," he said.

Pellegrini said he and his entire delegation were impressed by the reconstruction work being carried out in the city.

"I must say that our entire delegation was impressed from the very first minute by the large-scale infrastructure investments and by what is happening there," the Slovak president said.

Pellegrini paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on July 13-15.
