Hikmat Hajiyev meets world‑renowned economist Professor Jeffrey Sachs

Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, has met with world‑renowned economist Professor Jeffrey Sachs in Baku, Olaylar informs.

Hajiyev wrote on X that the meeting featured an engaging discussion on sustainable development, geopolitics and geoeconomics, as well as the broader concept of the Caspian region.

According to Hajiyev, the sides also exchanged views on Azerbaijanchr("39")s growing role as a middle power, the countrychr("39")s peace agenda and the importance of regional ownership.

Hajiyev also praised Sachschr("39") "Marco Polo - Drive of Peace" initiative, which involves travelling along the East-West route by electric vehicles.

He described the initiative as an inspiring example of promoting dialogue and connectivity.
