Azerbaijan to be represented in UNECE committee leadership
11:36 EnAzerbaijan has gained the right to be represented in the leadership of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Bureau of the Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships (CICPPP) for the years 2026-2028, Olaylar informs, referring to Azerbaijanchr("39")s Economy Ministry.
The announcement was made during the 19th session of the committee held in Geneva. It was noted that Turkan Vuset, a representative of the Ministry of Economy, was elected Deputy Chair of the Committee Bureau.
The ministry stated that Azerbaijanchr("39")s representation in the Bureau leadership will allow the country to participate in the development of international standards in the field of public‑private partnerships. It will also expand cooperation with international expert networks, facilitate the application of advanced methodologies and successful practices in Azerbaijan, and contribute to improving the national institutional and legal framework in line with international standards.
It was emphasized that this role will also promote Azerbaijanchr("39")s activities in public‑private partnerships on the international stage, encouraging new projects with foreign investors and development partners.
The UNECE plays a significant role in shaping international standards and recommendations in areas such as economic cooperation, trade, transport, energy, environment, innovation, and public‑private partnerships.
The CICPPP operates under UNECEchr("39")s Economic Cooperation and Integration sub‑program and serves as a key platform for developing international standards, model laws, and methodological documents in public‑private partnerships, innovation policy, competitiveness, and sustainable economic development.
