Sahil Babayev: Azerbaijan strengthened its role as strategic bridge between Europe, Asia

Azerbaijan has strengthened its role as a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev said at the 28th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), Report informs.

According to him, in recent years, Azerbaijan has consistently implemented reforms to diversify the economy, strengthen fiscal sustainability, and stimulate private sector-led growth.

"Thanks to sustained investments in transport, logistics, and connectivity infrastructure, the country has further strengthened its role as a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia," Babayev said.

The minister noted that the BSTDBchr("39")s results last year were impressive: 31 new projects worth over €668 million were approved-an 81% increase compared to the previous year-and the operating portfolio reached approximately €1.5 billion.

"These achievements demonstrate the bankchr("39")s ability to flexibly and effectively respond to the changing needs of its member countries while remaining committed to its development mission," he added.
