Uzbek official calls for stronger religious cooperation in Turkic world

The integration of the Turkic world in the fields of religion and education is of strategic importance for the future of its peoples, Chairman of Uzbekistanchr("39")s Committee on Religious Affairs Sodik Toshboyev said, Olaylar informs.

Speaking at the first meeting of the heads of state bodies for religious affairs of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha, Toshboyev said the gathering marks an important and historic step toward strengthening religious and educational cooperation within the organization.

He noted that Turkic peoples are united not only by a common language, culture and history, but also by the values of tolerance and humanism promoted by Islam.

Toshboyev expressed confidence that the new format would develop into an important platform for enhancing spiritual and religious-educational harmony across the Turkic world.

He also highlighted the work of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards and the Council of Muftis within the OTS, saying regular dialogue, close cooperation between fatwa committees and joint initiatives have contributed to stronger collaboration and positive results.
