Baku hosts conference marking First Turkological Congress centenary

An international scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress was held at Baku State University (BSU), bringing together scholars from Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan and several other countries.

Participants presented reports highlighting the historical and academic significance of the First Turkological Congress. Among the speakers were Professor Hajar Huseynova of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, academician Nizami Jafarov, Professor Bilgehan Atsız Gökdağ of Kırıkkale University, and Bülent Bayram, Vice President of the International Turkic Academy.

The speakers stressed that the ideas and principles of the First Turkological Congress remain relevant today and continue to influence the development of Turkic studies.

They described the congress as a landmark event in the scientific history of Turkic peoples, noting that it is widely regarded as one of the key milestones in the formation of the field.

The conference concluded with discussions among participants.
