Milli Majlis ratifies Azerbaijan's accession to Metric Convention

The Milli Majlis (Parliament) has ratified Azerbaijanchr("39")s accession to the Metric Convention.

The draft law approving the Convention was discussed today at the extraordinary session of the parliament.

Following debate among deputies, the bill was put to a vote and adopted in a single reading.

The Metric Convention - also known as the Metre Convention - is a historic international treaty that ensures the global uniformity of measurement units and laid the foundation for international standardization. It was signed in Paris on May 20, 1875, by 17 countries.
