Mirziyoyev: First Turkological Congress marked new era for Turkic peoples

The First Turkological Congress, held in Baku in 1926, was a historic event that laid the foundation for a new era in the scientific and cultural life of Turkic peoples, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his address to participants of Turkic World Week in Baku, dedicated to the congresschr("39")s 100th anniversary, Olaylar informs.

"We always proudly recall that 11 prominent intellectuals from Uzbekistan took part in that congress," the president noted.

He stressed that today, as the international community gathers to commemorate this milestone, the forum should be seen as a reflection of deep respect for the shared values uniting Turkic nations.

"Undoubtedly, when we speak of this historic Congress, which left an indelible mark on our national memory, we once again express profound gratitude for the invaluable contributions of the Jadidist educators of the Turkic world," Mirziyoyev added.
