Tokayev thanks Ilham Aliyev for initiative to hold Turkic World Week

The ideas put forward at the First Turkological Congress a century ago remain relevant today, Kazakh President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev said in his address to participants of Turkic World Week in Baku, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Congress, Olaylar informs.

Tokayev stressed the importance of preserving and thoroughly studying common spiritual heritage in todaychr("39")s complex and changing era: "Strengthening cooperation among scholars and further consolidating our cultural and humanitarian partnership is essential. This forum has been organized precisely for that purpose."

The Kazakh leader also emphasized Azerbaijanchr("39")s special role in the Turkic world: "Today you are continuing this honorable mission, actively contributing to the development of cooperation among brotherly countries. On this occasion, I sincerely thank President Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for initiating this prestigious gathering."
