Azerbaijan expresses condolences to Venezuela following powerful earthquakes

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its condolences to Venezuela over the loss of life and destruction caused by two powerful earthquakes, Olaylar reports.

"We are deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake that struck #Venezuela, causing tragic loss of life and widespread destruction. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and express our solidarity with the people and government of Venezuela during this difficult time. We wish a swift recovery to all those affected. ," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck northern Venezuela overnight on Thursday. The US Geological Survey (USGS) later reported two seismic events measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, occurring just 40 seconds apart. Venezuelan authorities declared a state of emergency.

According to preliminary reports, at least 32 people were killed and around 700 others were injured.
