Azerbaijan State Border Service seizes 41 kg of narcotics on Iran border

Azerbaijanchr("39")s State Border Service (SBS) has prevented the smuggling of 41.168 kilograms of narcotics from Iran, the SBS told Olaylar

According to the service, recent border search and operational measures aimed at ensuring reliable protection of the state border and combating smuggling and illegal drug trafficking led to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics.

In the service area of the Goytapa Border Detachment, 6.478 kg of marijuana was discovered, while in the Lankaran Border Detachment area, 24.090 kg of marijuana was seized.

Additionally, in the Horadiz Border Detachment area, a drone attempting to cross the border with narcotics was neutralized. Inspection of the site revealed 10.600 kg of narcotics - including 10.550 kg of marijuana and 50 grams of opium.

Operational-investigative measures are ongoing in connection with the incidents.
