Ancient ceramic fragments discovered in Azerbaijan's Salyan

Fragments of ceramic pottery that may date back to an ancient period have been discovered in the Salyan District.

As reports Olaylar, the find was made in the village of Sarvan.

A local resident, Shahin Mehremov, found several fragments of glazed ceramic pottery decorated with various patterns and ornaments while plowing an agricultural field.

The discovered pieces are covered with green glaze and feature delicate decorative motifs.

Preliminary observations suggest that the fragments may be connected to an ancient settlement or to items of everyday material culture.

At present, it is not yet known which historical period the ceramic fragments belong to. Further archaeological examination and analysis will be required to determine their age and origin.
