Azerbaijan seized nearly AZN112 million worth of narcotics in 5 months

In the first five months of 2026, narcotics worth approximately 111.8 million manats (approximately $65.7 million) were removed from circulation in Azerbaijan.

The Standing Working Group of the State Commission of Azerbaijan on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking told Olaylar that the total volume of seized narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs amounted to 4,263.1 kg.

Of the confiscated substances, 3,664 kg and 289.559 g were marijuana, 212 kg and 587.146 g heroin, 88 kg and 128.798 g opium, 214 kg and 243.147 g hashish, 7 kg and 937.74 g other narcotics, and 76 kg and 346.71 g psychotropic substances.

Additionally, 4,486 methadone tablets, 3,660 cannabis plants, and 29 psychotropic pills were discovered and seized.
