Azerbaijan, Thailand hold first-ever consular consultations in Baku

Azerbaijan and Thailand have held their first consular consultations in Baku.

As reports Olaylar citing Azerbaijanchr("39")s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Thai delegation was headed by Mungkorn Pratumkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs.

The sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the consular sphere. They discussed expanding the legal and treaty framework between the two countries, developing new cooperation mechanisms, and strengthening institutional ties.

They also exchanged experience on evacuating citizens during crisis situations and providing urgent consular assistance.

In addition, the sides discussed recent innovations in consular work, including the experience and tools they use towards digitalization of consular services.
