Iran says it stops attacks on Israel

Iran has announced a halt to strikes against Israel, but threatened further attacks if there was an escalation in Lebanon, Olaylar informs via Ynet citing Fars news agency.

"The Iranian Armed Forces have announced a halt to military operations against Israel," Ynet quoted the agency as saying.

Tehran also emphasized that if the Israeli army continues military operations in Lebanon against Hezbollah, Iran will retaliate even more forcefully.

On the night of June 7-8, Iran launched a missile strike against Israel. Tehran justified the strike by citing the ongoing Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation against the radical organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In response, the IDF attacked military targets in central and western Iran.

US President Donald Trump, for his part, called for restraint from both Iran and Israel.
