Pashinyan addresses Azerbaijan and Türkiye after preliminary election results

Following the announcement of the preliminary results of Armeniachr("39")s parliamentary elections, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed Yerevanchr("39")s commitment to peace, regional cooperation, and the normalization of relations with neighboring countries.

Pshinyan stated that the Armenian governmentchr("39")s position toward Türkiye and Azerbaijan remains unchanged.

"The people of Armenia support peace, regional prosperity, and regional cooperation. I hope this will be positively received by both Türkiye and Azerbaijan," he said.

Pashinyan emphasized that one of Yerevanchr("39")s key priorities remains the institutional strengthening of the peace process with Azerbaijan. He noted that the text of a peace agreement has already been agreed upon and that the next step should be its signing.

"Regarding Azerbaijan, as you know, we have a preliminarily agreed peace treaty. We must sign it," the Armenian prime minister stressed.

Pashinyan also addressed Armenian-Turkish relations, expressing hope for further progress in the normalization process and the eventual opening of the state border between the two countries.

In addition, he welcomed recent developments in the transport sector and thanked the parties involved for the decision to open the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway route for Armenian cargo shipments.
