Baku hosts panel session Return to Western Azerbaijan

Within the framework of the international scientific conference in Baku titled "Return to Western Azerbaijan: As a New Stage of the National Idea," a panel session under the theme "Return and the New Peace Architecture of the Region" was held, Olaylar informs.

During the panel, Damjan Mišković, Director of Political Research, Analysis, and Publications at ADA Universitychr("39")s Institute for Development and Diplomacy, emphasized that wars occurring in the world affect everyone.

Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Working Group, Shamil Ayrim, stressed that being displaced from onechr("39")s homeland is a heavy burden for all people. Referring to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, he underlined the necessity of establishing peace in the region:

"Azerbaijan is taking comprehensive steps in this direction. International law also confirms the right of return to Western Azerbaijan. The ongoing peace process between the two countries gives hope for positive results. Considering that Azerbaijan and other states in the region will benefit from this peace, its importance becomes even more evident."

Sheraz Mehmood Khan, an international relations expert at Western Caspian University, highlighted the advantage of Azerbaijanchr("39")s location at the crossroads of Asia and Europe:

"Major international events held in Azerbaijan show that this country is not only a strong middle power but also pays attention to the worldchr("39")s most important environmental problems and key urban development issues."

Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations at Baku State University, Farhad Huseynov, noted that after the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan has taken significant steps toward peace: "Peace itself means justice. We want peace to be long-term and to provide a firm guarantee of security."
