IRGC claims retaliatory strikes on US base
10:05 EnThe Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced retaliatory measures following strikes by the U.S. military on Sirik Island in southern Iran.
The statement by the Iranian military was cited by the Mehr News Agency.
According to the information, the airbase from which the US military launched a strike on a communications tower on Sirik Island in Iranchr("39")s Hormozgan Province was targeted by the IRGC Aerospace Force
"The designated targets have been destroyed," the statement emphasized.
The IRGC warned the United States that if further actions are taken, its response would be "entirely different."
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported carrying out strikes against Iranian radar facilities and drone command centers in the Goruk area and on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, conducting airstrikes on a number of cities. In response, Iran launched missile attacks against Israel and targeted US military bases in Persian Gulf countries.

The day before, in an interview with Fox News, Trump said that negotiations between Washington and Tehran were progressing slowly. He also stated that the United States was prepared to resume military operations against Iran if the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
