Shahbazov: New energy corridor through Zangazur to strengthen Türkiyes role as hub

A new energy corridor through Zangazur will make it possible to deliver energy resources from the Caspian region through Armenia to Nakhchivan and Türkiye, further strengthening Türkiye"s role as a regional energy hub.

As Olaylar informs, citing Azerbaijan"s Energy Ministry, that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said this at the ministerial session of the 2nd Istanbul Natural Resources Summit.

In his speech, the minister stressed that Azerbaijan and Türkiye have built a successful model of cooperation involving both major investments in the energy sector and the implementation of oil and gas pipeline and electricity infrastructure projects.

According to him, the energy development strategy of both countries is based on diversifying supply sources and routes, as well as creating a broader network of energy links.

The minister also said that, amid recent geopolitical developments, energy power in the 21st century is no longer defined only by production volumes, but also by supply security, energy connectivity and reliable partnerships.

In this context, he pointed to the electricity interconnector project between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Bulgaria.

He also stressed that the development of electric mobility, electrification, data centers, artificial intelligence and other technologies is rapidly increasing demand for energy and electricity.
