Anar Guliyev: Urban population in liberated territories to exceed 354,000 by 2040

Urban population in Azerbaijanchr("39")s liberated territories - Karabakh and East Zangazur - will exceed 354,000 people by 2040, the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev, said at the event titled "Cities at the Center of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation" held within WUF13 in Baku.

Olaylar quotes him as saying master plans for eight cities in the liberated territories have already been approved, while master plans for four more cities are in the final stage of completion.

"The total planned urban area of the liberated territories exceeds 10,000 hectares, and the projected population by 2040 will exceed 354,000 people. Planning is being carried out based on the principles of long-term and phased development," Guliyev said.
