Hikmat Hajiyev: Safe access to liberated territories remains priority

Azerbaijan prioritizes the creation of a unified system of coordination, organization, and management between government agencies in the process of restoring liberated territories, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said at an event during WUF13 in Baku, Olaylar informs.

According to him, while taking into account international experience, Azerbaijan is simultaneously implementing its own model for managing restoration processes.

"Azerbaijanchr("39")s main advantage is its unified management system and centralized coordination. President Ilham Aliyev is providing strategic guidance for this process and setting the corresponding tasks for government agencies," Hikmat Hajiyev emphasized.

He noted that one of the current priorities remains the creation of infrastructure and ensuring safe access to the liberated territories.

"Large-scale demining operations are also being conducted. Since 2020, more than 400 mine incidents have occurred in the liberated territories," the presidential aide stated.

According to him, the mine threat persists even on roads leading to cemeteries where relatives and loved ones of citizens are buried.

"Therefore, clearing these areas and ensuring safe passage is extremely important," Hajiyev noted.

He added that, despite the mine threat, Azerbaijan has already ensured the safe return of thousands of citizens to Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur.

"Today, people live, work, receive education, and continue their activities in these territories," the presidential aide emphasized.
