Ombudsman: Significant efforts underway for integration of persons with disabilities into society

In Azerbaijan, important steps are being taken to protect the rights of persons with disabilities and ensure their full integration into society, Sabina Aliyeva, Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan, said during the event dedicated to the theme Independent Living and Inclusive Cities for Persons with Disabilities held on the third day of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Olaylar reports.

Aliyeva stated that one of the main goals of the event is to strengthen the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.

"Ensuring their rights in the field of urban planning and transforming modern cities into more accessible environments is a priority. Initial measures have already been implemented in this direction. Throughout the day, training sessions will be organized within the event, which is attended by guests from various countries," the Ombudsman said.
